Bad news_
Bad news: there are no shortcuts.

And there is no such thing as natural talent.
I repeat, there are no shortcuts.
OK, there are two.
1 / Show up and do the work.
2 / Find your tribe.
You might be thinking,
These aren't shortcuts!
But they are.
Because the path is so much longer without them.
Seth Godin has a nice take on this, too! ⇣

However, just blindly racking up hours won’t work.
You need a focused/purposeful hour for it to count towards your 10,0001.

And now you have 2 obstacles to overcome.
Actually getting to work.
Knowing what to work on when you finally do.
1. The myth of motivation.
It’s a common misconception that motivation leads to action. In fact, the opposite is true.

Action precedes motivation.
So, start.
Get moving, and then you’ll start to feel like moving.

You already know enough to get started.
You don't need to have a fully detailed plan before begin. Just start and work it out once you are in motion.
Or as Rumi says_
As you start to walk the way, the way appears.
And as you walk the way_
One rep at a time.

The work gets done_

If you put in the hours, you will become better than most.
And your talent will begin to show.
And then, and only then, people will notice.
Your overnight success will be the result of years of hard work.
And, people will want to know your secret.
And, then you can tell them this story.
Of how you showed up and did the work even when you didn’t feel like it.
Which they won’t like.
But, that’s fine.
Ok, that might be enough.
Enough motivation for action_
_just this once ;-)
But, if you want to put the work off a little longer, you can read

Or better still_
Step 1: Set a timer for 60 mins.
Step 2: Work your ass off.
Step 3: Finish, celebrate and enjoy the rest of your day (you’ll need to be well rested to go again tomorrow).
Good luck, and let me know how it goes.
